At Sage & Sara, we create thoughtful, personalized memorial candles to help honor your loved ones. Each candle is crafted with care — a comforting scent, a meaningful design, and their name — to keep their memory shining and bring you a sense of comfort and connection.
Every year on Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day, October 15, families around the world light candles at 7 PM local time in honor of babies gone too soon. This shared moment of remembrance is known as the Wave of Light.
These candles are extras from our 2025 Wave of Light collection, originally created to honor more than 2,000 babies through eleven uniquely labeled candles. Each one features a wrap-around design with names alphabetized by the first letter of the first name submitted to us in July.
A small number of extra candles remain in select name groupings and scents, and once they’re gone, they won’t be restocked.
Please note: Quantities are very limited, and availability will vary by name and scent. All candles are final sale and not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.

How Our Candle Subscriptions Work

Select from two candle sizes, then pick a subscription that works for you: monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly. You can also choose a prepaid plan for four or six months.

Your first box ships within 2–3 business days, and following boxes ship the first week of every month. All boxes ship free within the U.S.
What’s inside your box?
Each box includes a memorial candle, thoughtfully designed by us or in collaboration with a talented illustrator. The label is personalized with your loved one’s name, and features a new design each month. Every candle comes with a seasonal scent curated by us, or is fragrance-free when requested.
If your loved one’s birthday falls in the same month as your candle delivery, we include a small gift to honor them.
Carlee Made
Founded in 2022 by Carlee Young, Carlee Made provides digital illustrations to families grieving the loss of a loved one. After losing her daughter Ella Grace to anencephaly, Carlee began creating art on her iPad as way to express and process her grief. This eventually led her to open an Etsy shop where she now offers custom faceless portraits, pregnancy and infant loss illustrations, and birth month flower designs — some of which have turned into tattoos by others. Carlee has also created logos and T-shirt designs for nonprofits, and most recently illustrated a book for parents experiencing heartbreak from the loss of a child.

How do subscriptions work?
We currently offer two candle sizes to choose from - 7 oz (50 hour burn time) and 14 oz (up to 80 hours of burn time). Under each listing, you can choose a subscription plan that works best for you. You have the to option to subscribe to a 4-month or 6-month plan, and receive a "pay in full" discount, or join our monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly program.
Subscriptions are automatically renewed according to your selected delivery interval on the first day of the month unitl you cancel.
For example, if you started a monthly subscription, then the system will automatically charge your credit card each month and we will ship you a candle once a month, without the need to place the order by yourself.
If you need to take a break from your boxes, you can skip, pause or cancel your subscription at anytime. We will pause ALL subscriptions for the months of August, September and October due to our annual Wave of Light/Pregnancy & Infant Loss Project, and renew them again for November unless you've cancelled.
The first box in your subscription will ship within 2-3 business das. Your second box and beyond will ship with our monthly bulk shipment the first week of the month.
By subscribing to our Candle of the Month Club, you are allowing us to pick the design and scent that will be sent to you. You will get a different design and scent each time. Some of our designs will include your loved one's name, while others will only include a date, or a special quote.
Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Yes, of course. You can pause or cancel a subscription any time you want in the customer portal.
The customer portal can be accessed through the magic link you received in the email that was sent to you when you placed an initial subscription order. You can also access your subscriptions if you create an account in our shop.
Paused subscriptions will automatically reactivate once the full pause period has been reached. You may reactivate the subscription at anytime.
You can also skip the charge in the customer portal. Each scheduled delivery will have a Skip payment button next to it, which you can use to skip the charge.
When will I be billed for my subscription?
You will be billed for your first box immediately when you sign up. The subscription will auto renew the 1st of each subsequent month (based on your interval selection) until you cancel your subscription.
If you are on a commitment plan (4 or 6 months) for which you paid upfront, you must reach the end of your commitment plan. You can enable or disable auto-renewal at anytime in your account, see steps below:
1. Login to your account & visit the Subscription tab
2. Click the "View" button under your subscription details.
3. Click the "Disable Autorenew" button
4. Your subscription will no longer automatically renew after the commitment period (see "Status" field for subscription end date)
Note: You will still receive the total number of boxes you initially signed up to receive.
When will I receive my first box?
Your first box ships within 2-3 business days, unless you request a later date at checkout. The following boxes will be shipped the first week of the month and will arrive to you by mid-month.
